You guys know that all things Yosemite have my heart. So when Steven and Radhika approached me at the Bridal Collective Bridal Show about their May 2019 Tenaya Lodge Yosemite Wedding I knew I HAD to be the one to photograph their big day. Luckily for me Steven had scoped out all the vendors before coming to the Bridal Show and decided that Dana Rae Photography was who he wanted to capture his big day. And yes, it was his decision, once Radhika knew he wanted an important part in choosing their photographer she let him take over, which I thought was awesome, it’s not often the Groom is the main point of contact.
Their wedding was set for a warm Spring day, but we all know that things never go according to plan. Day of the wedding the sky was supposed to be clear but Mother Nature had a different plan. When the girls were getting ready it began POURING rain, and possibly even hailed a little. The awesome staff at Tenaya Lodge and the couples wedding coordinator were able to save the day (and the florals) and move everything to a covered area. The skies cleared just before the Ceremony and the rain let up in time for the Bridal portraits.
The couple wanted to honor both of their heritages on their wedding day. Radhika wore a custom gown made by Bridal Gown Studio Designer: Sonthai Gi. The gown incorporated Radhika’s Indian heritage as well as Western Culture. It was a truly stunning one of a kind piece. Steven made sure to include a Mariachi Band during the Cocktail hour as a nod towards his heritage.
The quality and details of the dress were simply stunning.
Instead of a First Look, Steven and Radhika decided to not see each other before the Ceremony but to share a prayer with each other and their Pastor. It was a very touching moment for the couple and those around them.
Once these two were pronounced man and wife they dancing down the aisle and into their married life.
More stunning details of Radhika’s Indian bridal look. Her Mehndi was just beautiful.
Radhika danced with her Brother, Step Father, and Mother during the Father/Daughter dance. Radhika honored her late Father by saving him a seat during their Wedding Ceremony.
Now it was time to party and get down. I absolutely adore shooting dancing photos and always wish I could stay late and capture more. I love seeing everyone let go and have a great time.
Thank you Steven and Radhika for allowing me to be a part of your big day! I hope you cherish your images for the rest of your life.
