Shaver Lake has quickly become one of my favorite locations to photograph engagement sessions. This location off Dinkey Creek Rd was perfect. As I drove up to the spot the fog started rolling in, of course being a photographer I freaked out a little because fog can be so hard to photograph but Lilly was so excited. After getting out of her truck she basically squeed with excitement, what I didn’t know was that Tucker and her are getting married on Halloween! Lilly loves all things spooky and the fog coming in was the perfect match for her Halloween wedding. I knew there was no way I could disappoint.
It was time for an outfit and location change. It just seems so wrong to go to Shaver Lake without actually seeing the water. I always encourage my couples to bring at least 2 outfits, something a bit more formal and a second more casual option. It was so much colder near the water but you wouldn’t be able to tell by the beautiful golden light. I love that it almost looks like a completely different engagement session.
Sometimes I see something in my head and it doesn’t quite work out, it’s all apart of the creative process. But sometimes, sometimes I make magic. I had them sit down on this log and saw the branches and immediately knew I had to show through the trees. I got so excited that Tucker and Lilly got excited, lol. I love when my couples trust me to capture amazing images for them.
I can not wait to get back to photography again. I am looking forward to Lilly and Tuckers Wedding this Fall.
