Wonder Valley Ranch Wedding – Lilly and Tucker

Do you guys remember Lilly and Tucker’s Engagement Session blog? Well, the day came and they finally got married at the beautiful Wonder Valley Ranch Resort in Sanger. It was truly a beautiful day where they were surrounded by their family and friends.

When I received my wedding invitation in the mail I saw Lilly and Tucker had the ceremony scheduled for just before sunset (yes they mailed me an invite! Pro-tip, always send me an invite, if you forget to bring an extra for details chances are I will have mine). There were only 30 minutes from the time the ceremony was finished until complete darkness! I knew I had to get them on the phone right away and talk about the possibility of doing a first look. After I explained that doing family formals, bridal party portraits, and bridal portraits in 30 minutes were less than ideal and how they would be receiving very little portraits of the two of them they were on board. I am SOOO glad they choose to do a first look, I mean, look at that beautiful light that we would have otherwise missed if they didn’t my expertise.

Another tip, if you opt to do a first look you can actually go to your cocktail party and enjoy that portion of the day that you planned!

A lot of brides worry that if they have a first look their groom won’t cry when they walk down the aisle. This is just simply not true, if your man is a crier, then he is going to cry whether or not he saw you earlier in the day. Usually if the groom cries during one he cries during both, that was not the case with Tucker but once he knew he was about to marry Lilly he had a hard time keeping it together, and I think we are all here for it.

You can’t have a wedding at Wonder Valley Ranch without sunset portraits on the dock. I went up on the diving tower for these images. Shortly after I finished Lilly screamed to me that she was “keeping me forever” and I am absolutely down to capture all of their milestones!
