Diego and Jessi got married at the beautiful Chapel on the Hill just outside of Paso Robles in Shandon. This gorgeous Chapel sits up top a hill (hence the name) looking over picture-perfect vineyards and rolling golden hills. There is a small winding road that leads up to the back of the church and a walkway that leads you through the vineyards and up the hill towards the Chapel. I think you would be hard-pressed to find a more beautiful location for a Chapel in California.
This stunning church is one of the only known privately owned Catholic churches on the west coast. In order to have your wedding at the Chapel, you have to write a letter to the family who owns it and gain approval. For many years the family stepped back and were not allowing weddings as it was too much work. When Jessi told me about the Chapel and that they were waiting for the family to approve their use of it I asked her what her back up plan was, there wasn’t one, she knew since she was a little girl growing up around Paso that she had to get married in that church. Thankfully the family has opened their doors and their hearts to allow more weddings at the Chapel.
I know we all love a groom who can’t help but cry when he sees his bride for the first time.
Jessi’s sister was her matron of honor and only bridesmaid. During the ceremony Diego talked about Jessi moving to Fresno to be close to her sister, he then thanked her, because if she had not moved to Fresno they would have never of met.
These stairs and the archway lead up a path between the vineyards towards the Chapel. I wanted to spend all day around the property taking images, the entire space was just perfect.
Following the ceremony, the couple had their reception at the Loading Chute in Creston. It was nestled in the hills and the perfect venue to celebrate their marriage.
Congratulations Diego and Jessi! I wish you a lifetime of happiness that I know will be surrounded by love from your families.

Hi, I’ve known the Clark family for many years, Paul Clark, from Paso Robles now, that still has ranch in Shandon, I went to kindergarten with Paul, I was wondering if the Chapel could be used for a small wedding, next October 2023. Thank you,
Hugh Forster
How much notice must be given to the Clark family to possibly be married at the chapel.
Do you have Paul Clark’s email? I would love to email him and ask for permission to have a wedding that this chapel! If they prefer hand written letters I can do that as well. Please let me know.
